This Notice explains how Twingate Inc. (“Twingate” or “we”) processes the personal data you provide when accessing or using the Community.

This Notice should be read in conjunction with the main Twingate Privacy Policy, which applies to the Community, except as otherwise described in this Notice. The main Twingate Privacy Policy includes information such as how to contact Twingate about privacy questions, and how to exercise any rights you have with respect to your personal data.

Please note that Communities are separate to Twingate’s other websites and services, and this Notice does not apply to such other websites and services.

What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you apply to join a Community, register for an account to access a Community, and participate in a Community by reading, writing, interacting with, or evaluating the content shared there.

When applying or registering for a Community account, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, other contact information, and professional details (such as your job function, level and LinkedIn profile URL). We may require your contact details to be verified.

Our Slack community may collect and process information as described in Slack’s Privacy Policy with respect to Slack workspaces.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the information we collect from you in connection with a Community may be used in the following ways:

  • To communicate with you and other Community members. The contact details you provide may be used to send you information and notifications that you request (such as in response to mentions of your user name), notify you about Community events and programs, and to respond to inquiries, requests or questions. We may also disclose your personal data with other Community members, such as part of your public account profile, introducing you as a new member to the rest of the Community, or as part of member networking initiatives.

  • To improve our Community and other services. We have a legitimate interest in continually striving to improve our Communities, and products and services based on the information and feedback we receive from you. We may use your information to encourage greater Community engagement.

  • To improve customer service and personalize your experience. As part of our legitimate interest in offering you a positive user experience, your information is used to help us to more effectively respond to your requests, support needs and other individual needs and preferences.

  • To market and advertise our services. We may also occasionally contact you to send you information and updates about Twingate and third party products and services because we have a legitimate interest in providing you with information that we believe may be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving these communications at any time.

  • To prevent harm or liability and for legal compliance. We may use your information for security purposes (such as to investigate security issues or to monitor and prevent illegal activity within a Community), to prevent abuse, and to comply with applicable law. We may do this to comply with our legal obligations, to protect an individual’s vital interests, or because we have a legitimate interest in preventing harm or liability to Twingate and our users.

Do we disclose any information to third parties?

Please refer to the main Twingate Privacy Policy for information on the circumstances in which your information may be disclosed to third parties.
